On My Way to Work Everyday

On my way to work everyday

I jump past the crowds and hop the trains

To save a look from my boss’s fat face

He’s nice and all but I don’t think he’s a friend of mine

Through the haze there’s a spark within

Chasing dreams in a world that spins

Every step a story begins

Beyond these walls where my heart has been

Feel the rhythm of the city’s pulse

I’m in the crowd but I’m feeling lost

Paying dues no matter the cost

Searching for the lines that I’ve crossed

On my way to work everyday

Starting to feel like it robs me

More than it pays

Sky’s the limit but it feels so far

Dreaming big under the same old stars

Riding this life like it’s a runaway car

Looking for a place where the real are

On my way to work everyday

I push past the crowds and I jump the trains

To save a look from my fat boss’s face

He’s kind and all, but I know he’s no friend of mine
