La di-di da-da

La di di da da …

When you awake

Wash your face

And try to think of

Better days

And if you arise

On the wrong bed side

Just turn your mind

To the other side

La di di da da …

This grief of mine

Has grown hands and limbs

That I love to

Grapple with

It pins me down

And I lose my grip

I’m being pushed

To the middle earth

La di di da da …

The alarm is ringing

Once again

Snap out of it my friend

Don’t give in

But I can’t deny

The appeal when it

Says come on in

I’ll show you everything

La di di da da …

Smoke fills the room

Like the way

The Grief lingers

within

A shadowed beast

That time forgot

Sitting amongst my

Every thought

La di di da da …

Kingdom come but

Never to just one

It's time to escape from

Being alone

And depart this den

Where my cohabitant

And only friend is

Grief never-end

La di di da da …

So as the dawn

Begins to break

I'll rise once more

For my own sake

For though it rests

Within my heart

I'll find a way

Toward a better day

La di di da da …

Elven Dream

The elves are running, or was it the birds?

To be completely honest I’m not really sure.

My mind’s not right and my soul isn’t free

I’m chained to the fantasy that is my dream.

In shadows, I wander, through echoes I roam,

Listening for a word from the unknown.

Upon the night sky, a comet gives hope

A sure sign to take another toke

But where do these dreams end,

And where does my life begin?

I’m caught in between

Waking life and the deepest dream.

The moon shimmers down on me.

It’s been a friend in my times of need.

A temporary respite for the bitterness felt...

It rejects my wishes, but won’t reproach my heart

Out in the distance, beyond the green field

I can see a figure, it looks like a girl.

But the sun’s rays will cast upon her

And just like that — she’ll disappear

And so where do these dreams end,

And where does my life begin?

I’m caught in between

Waking life and the deepest dream.

On My Way to Work Everyday

On my way to work everyday

I jump past the crowds and hop the trains

To save a look from my boss’s fat face

He’s nice and all but I don’t think he’s a friend of mine

Through the haze there’s a spark within

Chasing dreams in a world that spins

Every step a story begins

Beyond these walls where my heart has been

Feel the rhythm of the city’s pulse

I’m in the crowd but I’m feeling lost

Paying dues no matter the cost

Searching for the lines that I’ve crossed

On my way to work everyday

Starting to feel like it robs me

More than it pays

Sky’s the limit but it feels so far

Dreaming big under the same old stars

Riding this life like it’s a runaway car

Looking for a place where the real are

On my way to work everyday

I push past the crowds and I jump the trains

To save a look from my fat boss’s face

He’s kind and all, but I know he’s no friend of mine
